Bringing physiological processes to life through animation.

The human body is not only a structure; it is a dynamic system constantly evolving over time. Animation helps medical students visualize mechanisms that cannot be fully understood through static representations alone.

Commissioned by Dr. Nahid Tabibzadeh, this animation series was created for medical students to support the learning of physiology. The first module focuses on cardiovascular physiology, illustrating the cardiac cycle and the pressure-volume relationship of the heart.

Unlike anatomy, which focuses on structures, physiology explains how these structures function and interact. To represent these mechanisms, we designed animated sequences that emphasize timing, repetition, and relationships between different processes. Looping sequences allow students to observe and understand each stage of the cycle rather than simply watching it unfold once.

We created the visual direction of the series by balancing anatomical accuracy with a minimalist approach, highlighting the essential elements while avoiding unnecessary complexity.

The result is a set of educational resources that transforms abstract physiological mechanisms into clear visual experiences for medical learning.
