Bringing quantum concepts within reach.

Scientific knowledge has more value when it can circulate beyond research labs. Through design and interaction, complex ideas become experiences that invite curiosity instead of intimidation.
Quantum physics describes phenomena far removed from everyday experience, challenging our intuition and making many concepts difficult to understand and communicate. Yet, as science plays an increasingly important role in society, maintaining a strong connection between researchers and the public is essential.
Through his outreach work, researcher and science communicator Julien Bobroff has dedicated his career to making cutting-edge research accessible while preserving the rigor, beauty, and wonder of scientific ideas. By bringing researchers and designers together, he explores new ways of representing science: creating images and experiences that are both accurate and engaging, capable of sparking curiosity beyond the scientific community.
To ensure these resources reach as many people as possible, all productions are made freely available online, providing teachers and educators with engaging tools to bring contemporary research into classrooms.
For the International Year of Quantum, we translated his scientific content into a visual identity, a series of posters, and interactive 3D modules designed to make quantum concepts approachable and engaging.
The project explores five fundamental concepts—quantization, wave-particle duality, superposition of states, Young’s slits, and entanglement. While the posters provide a visual introduction, the interactive modules allow users to explore these ideas through direct manipulation and experimentation.
By combining scientific rigor with visual storytelling and interaction, the project helps transform complex research into experiences that invite curiosity, understanding, and dialogue. By making these resources freely available, it extends the reach of quantum science beyond research institutions and into classrooms and public spaces.
