Real-time graphs.

The Phyphox app allows you to collect data produced by smartphone sensors, such as the gyroscope or accelerometer. This data can be exported in JSON format to a URL.

Frédéric Bouquet, a physics researcher and teacher, initiated the Data Viz project. It is a web application that collects data generated by Phyphox and displays it as graphs, histograms, or numerical values.

The goal is to provide teachers with a tool to conduct physics experiments using students’ phones and present the results in real time. To make it as user-friendly as possible, Data Viz can be easily installed by uploading it to a host with PHP 8, with no need to install libraries. The project is open source and can be downloaded from this Git repository.

The visual interface was designed and developed by da fox, and a demonstration can be viewed here. Behind this visual interface, a REST API has been set up to facilitate the preparation of experiments.
